Case study: Seacote Caravan Park

The new owners of Seacote Caravan Park in Silloth on the Cumbrian coast had ambitious plans for their new site.

As well as making a raft of improvements to the facilities and the site itself, they sought to make changes to its usage, from a multi-use caravan and touring site to an exclusive holiday home only park aimed at families.

They sought dodio’s expertise in developing a new visual identity and website for the park.

Aware of Seacote’s reputation amongst its existing customers for peace and relaxation, the new owners were keen to retain this and to emphasise the site’s location and environment.

We developed branding concepts centred around the theme of the local natural environment, using colours which reflected the park’s coastal location and incorporating local landmarks with a family-friendly appeal.

As the new owners were already looking to expand the business by acquiring sites across the north of England, it was important that the brand could easily be adapted for other sites under the same parent brand and this was central to the design concepts we created.

The new visual identity clearly reflected the personality of the brand and was quickly utilised across a range of new signage commissioned by the new owners, as well as forming the cornerstone of the new website.

We worked closely with our client to understand their ambitions for the site and the wider business. We took time to get a clear picture of their target audience and used this information to develop user personas and map user journeys to develop an intuitive site structure and effective content design that would meet the needs of its users.

Phase one of the website has been launched, reflecting the company’s brand and aligning with the new visual identity. We have also made recommendations for phase two, to include new photography and video assets, which we be developed as Coronavirus restrictions ease and as the development of the site continues.

We’re so delighted with the work dodio has done for us. The branding really reflects the personality of the business as well as our location and we’re so pleased to have their continued expertise in developing a website which will grow with our business.
